About the role

Gallery X is a premium, appointment-only barbershop in Hamilton, Newcastle, where every service starts with a consultation so the cut suits the client's own style. They are after an experienced senior barber to join a growing team and deliver high-quality grooming and strong customer service. Day to day the role covers men's haircuts, fades, undercuts, line-ups and precision work, along with beard, moustache and sideburn trimming, hot towel shaves and facial grooming. Barbers also shampoo and prep hair, recommend grooming products, manage appointments, keep service records and process payments. Tools, workstations and equipment must be cleaned and maintained to health and safety standards. Applicants need a Certificate III in Barbering or Hairdressing or equivalent, plus one to two years of relevant experience, solid knowledge of current techniques and trends, and good attention to detail. The shop is known for treating barbering as a genuine craft. Pay is 79,422 to 79,423 dollars per year for a full-time, in-person position.
