About the role

Gallery X is a premium, appointment-only barbershop in the Newcastle and Hunter region, where every visit starts with a consultation so the cut suits the client's own style. They are after an experienced senior barber to join a growing team and deliver high-quality grooming and strong customer service. Day to day the role covers cutting, trimming, tapering and styling with scissors, clippers and razors, along with fades, undercuts, line-ups and precision haircuts. Beard, moustache and sideburn work is part of the job, plus hot towel shaves and facial grooming where needed. Barbers shampoo and prep hair, recommend suitable products, manage appointments and process payments. Keeping tools, workstations and the shop clean and sanitised to health and safety standards is expected. Applicants need a Certificate III in Barbering or Hairdressing or an equivalent qualification, and one to two years of relevant experience. Solid knowledge of current techniques, good attention to detail and friendly communication are important. The role is full-time and pays 79,423 dollars per year.
