Valonz Haircutters in Paddington is hiring 1st and 2nd year apprentice hairdressers along with salon assistants. Apprentice applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to qualify for the program. The salon assistant role runs 2 to 3 days per week, roughly 16 to 24 hours, and requires at least one year of salon assisting experience. The shop has trained many of Australia's leading hairdressers over the past 40 years, with everyone starting as apprentices. Successful applicants learn to colour, cut and style with current techniques. The training program includes regular in-salon sessions, off-site Wella courses that the salon pays for, on the job training and one day per week at TAFE. There are also chances to assist backstage at Fashion Week shows and red carpet events, work on fashion editorial shoots and create social media content. Pay ranges from 35,000 to 57,000 per year. An employee discount is offered.
