About the role

North Star Barbershop in Northcote is a community focused shop where service matters as much as the cut. They describe their approach as service with soul: thoughtful consultations, a complimentary drink, a hot towel service and careful finishing. This is a new shop that is growing fast. The role starts at 2 to 3 days per week, always including Friday and Saturday, with flexibility valued. As the client base grows they expect days to increase, with the intention of moving the right person into a full-time position after probation. They are after a barber with at least 5 years full-time experience who is consistent, professional, reliable and genuinely good with people. Skills wanted include scissor haircuts, fades and classic barbering, beard shaping, cut throat razor work, thorough consultations and experience with long hair. They value an inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly environment. On offer: a loyal client base, a premium fit-out, ongoing mentoring and a possible pathway to a senior role.
