About the role

Empire Barbershop in Oakleigh, Melbourne is looking for a senior barber to join their team. The shop was named Australia's Best Barbershop Business of the Year 2025 and is growing quickly. They are after someone who can lead and inspire as well as cut, with at least 3 years of experience and strong skills in fades, scissor work, styling and beard grooming. Good communication and the ability to build real client relationships matter here, along with reliability and pride in the craft. Leadership or mentorship experience is considered a bonus. The role is available full-time, part-time or casual. Pay is listed at 80,000 to 90,000 per year, described as above award, plus commission and tips. There is a steady flow of loyal clients. Ongoing education is part of the offer, including workshops, seminars and guest educators, along with involvement in national expos and creative shoots.
